Annual Meeting at Kenrick Seminary
Annual Meeting at Kenrick Seminary
The St. Louis Chapter SAH held its Annual Meeting at the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, a.k.a Kenrick Seminary on June 19, 2010. President John Guenther, Newsletter Editor Esley Hamilton, Treasurer Richard Mueller and Webmaster Michelle Kodner all provided updates. Richard Mueller distributed the 2010 Treasurer’s Report and Chapter Officers were reelected as they currently stand.

The highlight of the meeting was a tour of the St. Vincent DePaul Chapel sponsored by Jane and John Guenther and led by Esley Hamilton. According to Esley, the Chapel was designed by Pittsburgh architect John T. Comes assisted by Thomas F. Imbs. It is on the collegiate plan, like a Cathedral choir, and has outstanding wood carving, stained glass and painting.
Thanks to Jane, John and Esley for the tour of this amazing but little-seen gem. Below is a rendering from the Kenrick Seminary Calendar for the Scholastic year 1914-1915, a booklet describing the history, design and course offerings of the seminary. Below the rendering are more photos of the Seminary and Chapel.
